The longer away from home I am, the more I miss the finer things in kiwi life such as tender fresh meat (in contrast to imported frozen rubber); real (instead of dried) strawberries, NZ (as opposed to Chilean) kiwifruit and fresh whipped cream (compared with powdered Dream Whip) on a home-made pavlova; and, of course, my favourite chocolate biscuits (instead of the indonesian version).
The point of this post is to give a shout out to some people who have gone to great lengths to give me a little bit of home. Thanks to P for the squiggles and toffee pops that travelled for one month through eight(?) countries to get to me. Big ups to Rhett for the BOX of TimTams he somehow managed to bring back in his pack from Oz. And finally, Kat you rock! Check it out:
